Warrior Salute Veteran Services

 Here is some information about Warrior Salute Veteran Services and the Nucor House.

• Nucor Steel in Auburn, NY has been a huge contributor toward Warrior Salute since its inception in 2011. Nucor provided a majority of the funding needed for the purchase of the Nucor House.
  

What we do:

• Transitional Housing for Veterans regardless of discharge status or amount of time served (Average stay is about 6 months)
• 100% Free of cost to the Veteran
• Do not pay rent or utilities… we even do the grocery shopping!
• Volunteer Opportunities
• Free YMCA pass
• Transportation to appointments, work, shopping, etc.
• 24 hour staff
• “0 Tolerance” (Drug testing performed regularly)

House Details:

• 13 Bedrooms (1 person per room) Queen/Full sized bed, Large Dresser,  Closet, Desk and Chair
• 2 Living rooms with flat screen TV’s
• Very large dining room
• Large kitchen with 2 stoves/ovens, 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers, Large pantry with 5 Refrigerators

• Quite a few pieces of workout equipment in the basement (bowflex, treadmill, elliptical, bench press, free weights)
• Deck with dining area
• Gazebo

Funding:

• Non-Profit
• 100% community funded
• Donations throughout the year from longtime supporters of the program

• 2 Large fundraising events each year
  • Golf Tournament at Oak Hill Country Club
  • “Toast to the Veterans” at the Strathallan Hotel in Rochester
