Dear NYSPIA Member/Retiree,
The New York State Police Investigators Foundation (NYSPIF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that among other initiatives, provides financial assistance to members of the law enforcement community and all first responders in times of tragedy and personal hardship.
NYSPIF is pleased to announce that we are now operating and donating to those in need. Because we are a charitable organization we rely solely on fundraisers and donations in order to have the ability to help our fellow police officers and other first responders. New York State Police employees are able to make donations to NYSPIF directly through payroll and pension deductions.
We have raised about $78,000 with our fundraising efforts thus far and will continue to raise money for the Foundation through continued yearly fundraisers. This year we have scheduled so far, a golf tournament, NYC 9/11 Cruise and two cigar events.
The NYSPIF fund has helped fellow active and retired NYSP members as well as members of the general law enforcement community and many other first responders with donations for line of duty deaths of our members and other police agencies, cancer/medical treatments and travel, a firefighter LOD death as well as victims of natural disasters such as fire or floods. The contributions received by the NYSPIF have allowed for the distribution of over $18,500 in grants since we established in 2019.
We are encouraging NYSPIA active and retired members to take advantage of the paycheck/pension deduction program to support their fellow co-workers and families as well as members of the law enforcement community and all other first responders in their times of need.
