Final Patrol: Senior Investigator Owen P. (O. P.) Honors

 It is with deep regret that Major Michael S. TenEyck, Troop “D" Commander, announces the death of Senior Investigator Owen P. (O. P.) Honors.  Senior Investigator Honors passed away August 25, 2022 at the age of 88 .  Senior Investigator Honors served with the State Police from August 1, 1957 until his retirement on November 9, 1977.  He last served at SP Fulton  He was the father of Investigator Amy P. Honors (retired) and father-in-law to Amy’s husband,  Zone Sergeant David P. Carroll (retired).  After retirement, Senior Investigator Honors served for over 30 years as the Commissioner of Public Safety for the Town of Clay and led the Town of Clay Police Department during that time.  Prior to entering the State Police, Senior Investigator Honors served in the Korean Conflict with the U. S. Marine Corps.
