A message to us from the Mesothelioma Center at Asbestos.com

Hi Association of Former New York State Troopers,

My name is David Giraldo and I work in the public outreach department of The Mesothelioma Center (Asbestos.com).  As I was browsing through a number of 9/11 memorial sites, I came across yours and was inspired by what you're doing to honor those lost.

The World Trade Center was estimated to contain nearly 400 tons of asbestos and, as a result of that terrible event, this asbestos was released into the air. Many people are already suffering from health issues caused by the asbestos that blanketed the surrounding area.

In an effort to help those who were affected, we are reaching out to organizations in hopes of spreading awareness about resources that exist for these victims.
